Marketing & Sales professional with 20 years of hospitality industry experience

Hailing from Northwest Iowa with a degree in Marketing from the University of Iowa, I have been in the hospitality industry for twenty years.  I started “A Marketing Service” in 2010 with a goal to bring marketing solutions to hospitality professionals.  My various roles in marketing, sales, operations and events, have given me a unique perspective to help solve the challenges that face our industry.

During my 10+ year career at Universal Orlando I had the opportunity to work on both the Resorts and Events teams.  As the Director of Marketing for the three, AAA Four Diamond award-winning on-site hotels: Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, Loews Royal Pacific Resort and Hard Rock Hotel, I was responsible for all areas of strategic marketing and partnerships.  While on the Events team, I was responsible for both marketing and selling Universal’s world-class theme parks  and the Universal CityWalk entertainment complex.

My experience also includes the role of Sales Manager at Hyatt Regency Crown Center in Kansas City, MO and Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando, FL.  Earlier on in my career, I had a variety of operational roles including catering director, front desk agent, restaurant manager, banquet manager and housekeeper at my grandparents’ motel.  These experiences have helped me build a strong foundation of skills to become a better marketer.

Today I have found my passion in helping other sales and marketing professionals conquer their workload.   When not solving marketing challenges, I can usually be found hosting tea parties with my 2½ year-old daughter, Lauren and enjoying time with my husband, John.
